Changes to the 'Involved/Injured/ Person' (IP) list on AssessNET
Several Safety Sub-Committee members requested more clarity around the identity of staff and student members who are involved in accidents and near misses. The aims are to identify any training needs and to help the Safety Office to prioritise further training and support. Therefore, the Safety Office has worked together with RISKEX, the software provider, to develop a two-tier selection option for the ‘Person Status’ of the ‘Involved/Injured Person’ (IP).
Following consultation, the development phase has been completed and the system has gone 'live.' The changes were announced by way of the DSO newsletter (July 2022) and an email notification addressed to Departmental Safety Officers, Departmental Administrators and First aiders in mid-October. The new descriptors have been entered into the software and the existing/current options have been disabled.
